Blue Is the Warmest Colour is a 2013 French romantic coming of age drama film written, produced, and directed by Abdellatif Kechiche and starring Léa Seydoux and Adèle Exarchopoulos.

- In the beginning of the movie Adèle has a short relationship with a guy named Thomas but finds no satisfaction in this relationship and soon starts dating Emma. Do you agree that if it wasn’t for her unsuccessful attempt with Thomas she would have never considered dating girls?
- How do we understand that Adèle comes from a middle-class working family while Emma is from an upper-class artsy family?
- There are several extended sexual scenes throughout the movie. Do you agree that such scenes are an integral part of the film?
- Why does Adèle decide to cheat on Emma? Does she no longer love her or are there any other reasons for her adultery?
- Why does Adèle decide to come to Emma’s exhibition at the end of the film? Why does she leave so soon?
