Please look through the offered vocabulary and read the questions in order to be prepared for the English club. Our topic is “Movies”. - What is the best movie of all time? Why is it so good? What genres of films do you like? Do you like documentaries?
- Are there any kinds of movies you dislike? What is the worst movie you have ever seen? Why was it so bad? What would have made it better?
- Which do you prefer, to watch movies or to read books?

- How do people see most movies in your country, at the theater/cinema or at home? What do you think about dubbing the movies? Do you think the movies should be screened with subtitles instead?

10 Interesting Movie Facts:
- After reading the script for “Men in Black”, Will Smith did not want any part of the movie. It was wife Jada that persuaded him to take the part.
- The story of “Mulan” had been told in China for almost 1,500 years before Disney picked it up and made it into a movie.
- Hitchcock used chocolate syrup to portray the blood seen in the shower scene for his classic film “Psycho”.
- Bruce Lee was so fast, that they actually had to slow a film down so you could see his moves.
- In “the Pirates of the Caribbean” series, Johnny Depp wears contact lenses that function as sunglasses so that the character would not be constantly squinting.
- The American Humane Association (AHA) objected to the scene in the “Shawshank Redemption” (1994) where the character Brooks feeds his crow a maggot. The AHA stated it was cruel to the maggot, and it required that the crow be fed a maggot that had died from natural causes.
- At one point, Jim Carrey and his family lived in a car and they all worked as janitors at a factory to make a living.
- In “The Dark Knight Rises”, 5’10» Tom Hardy had to wear 3 inch lifts to make his character Bane appear as tall or taller than fellow co-stars Christian Bale, ‘Morgan Freeman’, and Michael Caine.
- All of the clocks in the movie “Pulp Fiction” are stuck on 4:20
- During the making of the movie «Fight Club» actor Brad Pitt chipped his tooth. However, he did not get his tooth capped until after the movie was done filming as he thought it would look better chipped for his character
